This is not a new addition to my personal self-care routine, but time to share my experiences and these wonderful products with the community. 

So, briefly, let’s look at why it’s important to look after our skin! And what we actually put on it – goes in it. 

I started looking at chemicals in face and body care back in 2009. Sadly, this had been prompted by two things. Losing several good friends to cancer, mostly breast and skin types and having my youngest son ill with M.E/Chronic Fatigue Syndrome. 

What I discovered was quite shocking and I’ve learnt through many years of study and research how many chemicals we add in and onto our bodies on a daily basis. In some cases, over 500+ additional chemicals from face, body care, make-up, shampoos and conditioners, perfumes and cleaning products.

We are fighting toxins in our water, food and pollution in our air, our bodies have a difficult job processing these, so we do need to be mindful of reducing our additional chemical overload. 

There are many products on the market, this in itself can be daunting and confusing.  We often go for the cheapest to fit our budgets etc. But good Skincare needs to be part of your daily ‘self-care routine’, and more importantly as we age to help maintain a healthy balance and lifestyle. Buying fresh ingredients without the need for a long shelf life is always going to be a good thing.
